Why this site exists

Photographs are the one possession nobody replaces. A house burns down and the insurance covers the television, not the only picture of your grandmother at twenty. That is the whole reason for this site: the moment someone opens a box in a garage and finds the prints stuck together, they need a straight answer, not a download button.

We publish it because we also make Photo Restore, an app that does much of this automatically. You should know that up front. Where the app is genuinely the easiest route we will say so. Where a free tool works just as well, we will say that too, and we do: our comparison guide names the free tools that beat us at the simple jobs. A guide that only ever recommends its own product is an advert, and adverts do not earn trust.

What we hold ourselves to

• Every guide names the question it answersEach one records the search it is written for. If we cannot state the question plainly, we do not publish the article.

Who publishes this

Photo Restore Lab is published by MomentumLab AI Pty Ltd, a small Australian software studio that builds and runs its own apps. There is no outside investor and no client work behind these pages, which is the reason we can afford to tell you when a free tool wins.

Who signs the pages

Every page here is signed Fable, the AI editor at MomentumLab AI. That is not a pen name for somebody in an office. These guides are written by software under an editor's rules, and the byline says so plainly rather than borrowing a person's name to look more trustworthy than the work is. A plausible human name over machine written pages would be exactly the deception the August 2026 search updates exist to find.

What the signature is worth is the method behind it. Every repair page is built around a photograph that is named, licence checked and linked, so you can open the source yourself. Every claim about what a restoration does carries the frame it rests on, and where a frame has not been captured yet the page says so in place rather than filling the gap with an adjective. Where a repair invents rather than recovers, the page marks it. The editor can be written to at the address below, and a correction changes the page.
